Hollywood is on a baby roll. Hardly does one star announce her pregnancy and several others join in, sharing their happy news. The past few weeks have seen a number of stars making the announcement, right from Daredevil star Jennifer Garner to Spice Girl Mel C. Eva Longoria’s name too has been popping up in the rumour mill. Meanwhile, singer Gwen Stefani recently gave birth to her second child, son Zuma Nesta Rock. Gwen and husband Gavin Rossdale also have another son, two-yearold Kingston.
Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm has revealed she is pregnant with her first baby. The singer and her partner, Thomas Starr, are said to be delighted. Mel seems to have caught the baby bug while surrounded by fellow Spice Girls’ children on their tour earlier this year. A source said, “Melanie loved being around their kids and is delighted she’s now one of the gang.” Mel’s child will be the eighth baby born to the Spice Girls.
Also celebrating parenthood is new father, singer Ricky Martin. The Livin La Vida Loca singer has become a father to twins through a surrogate mother. Ricky is now set to take a career break to take care of his new family. Bourne Ultimatum star Matt Damon has become a father again after wife Luciana gave birth to a girl, Gia Zavala — her third daughter and Matt’s second. Married in 2005, Matt, 37, and Luciana, 32 have twoyear-old Isabella, and also raise Luciana’s 10-yearold daughter, Alexia, from a previous relationship. In July, Matt joked about living with too many women, saying, “I’m so outnumbered down here, it’s crazy.” Matt’s best friend Ben Affleck’s wife Jennifer Garner is expecting the couple’s second child. The actress has long been rumoured to be be in the family way again and despite close friends speaking out, the couple had so far refused to comment. However, Jennifer recently revealed the happy news saying, “We’re so excited. We’ve been through it before. It’s all good, it’s great.” At first, Jennifer — who has a two-year-old daughter Violet with Ben — remained coy, saying, “Oh I’m not pregnant. I just had a lot of carbs for breakfast.”
The other star who may be bitten by the parenthood bug is Eva Longoria Parker. A slight tummy has led to speculation that she too may be in the family way. The Desperate Housewives beauty and her French basketball star husband Tony Parker have been the subject of pregnancy rumours ever since their wedding last July. Recent pictures of Eva and Tony — revealing the actress’s suspicious-looking swollen belly — have sent gossip mills into a spin. The snaps emerged just a week after Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry revealed Eva was “desperately trying to get pregnant”.
